Cool Sprays - Beating the Heat With Essential Oils

Come summer and you have the hot summer breezes, the 'hot' flashes, the sweat, the sunburn, the rash and so many things that just make you feel hot and uncomfortable; things that make you beg for the winters to come! What better way to cool yourself than to just spray the air or yourself with some naturally soothing essential oils to relieve yourself from that hot, sticky uncomfortable feeling of the summer?

Aromatherapy is the ancient practice of using essential oils to promote health and comfort, which means that aromatherapy, can be used to beat the summer heat too. For years on end, aromatherapy has been used to ward off sunburn and to soothe frayed nerves when it gets too hot. But over the years, as the temperatures have risen steadily due to global warming, the need to use these essential oils to stay cool during summers has also increased steadily.

Essential Oils in Spray

Generally, these essential oils are used in a spray bottle so that you can spray it in your room or spray yourself with it to help cool you down. From the increasing air temperatures to increasing body temperatures, especially for those women who are in or approaching menopause to even soothing that painful sunburn, essential oil sprays are very useful.

Children especially love to get 'spritzed' down and sprayed all over! So, if your kids are suffering from sunburn, then you can sooth the burn and calm them down by using these sprays. This way, you wont even need to touch the sunburn and make it hurt more and everyone will be a lot happier.

Some of the most sought-after heat relieving essential oils that are available in the market today are eucalyptus, geranium, lavender, roman chamomile and peppermint. These essential oils are sure shot relaxants and can cool you down within no time at all.

Super Cool Ways To Stay Extra Cool

A very simple formula for a nice and pleasant cooling spray is this:

* Take about 5 drops of Lavender oil

* 1 drop of peppermint oil

* 1 cup distilled water

Add the lavender and peppermints oils to the distilled water and pour the contents into a spray bottle. Spray on your hands and legs, but refrain from spraying on the face because of the peppermint. If at all you would like to use this mixture near your face, then apply the mixture to a damp cloth and lightly dab the cloth on your face. See for yourself how this mixture can work miracles and make you feel cooler almost instantly.

If it is summer burn you are suffering from, then you can use this mixture -

* Take about 20 drops of Lavender oil

* 1 oz water

* 1 oz Aloe Vera

Add the lavender oil to the water and Aloe Vera and then pour the mixture in a spray bottle. Spray on the sun burnt area and experience instant relief.

If you keep getting 'hot flashes', then the best spray to use must include 3 drops of Roman Chamomile, 5 drops of Lavender and 1 drop of Rose with 2 ounces of distilled water. Shake the mixture well before using and spray whenever required. This mixture is extremely relieving and cooling.

Another super cool way to stay extra cool:

* 4 drops of Clary Sage

* 3 drops of Roman Chamomile

* 3 drops of Geranium

* 2 drops of Cypress
